Huxley 5 Miles, Cheshire

The Cheshire home Inter County match this year was held within the Huxley 5 miles race, on 19^th July, at a new event which more than lived up to its claim of being a very fast course. Our men’s team were led home by Daniel Weston (Wrexham), who was literally put in the team an hour before the start; he led the men home in 10^th with 26:36. Steffan Sayer (Menai) was pleased with a p.b. and 11^th in 26:54, with Scott Nixon (Wrexham) 13^th in 27:17. David Brilley (Buckley) made his debut in 15^th with a p.b. of 27:22, while another debutant Harry Driscoll (Meirionnydd) was 17^th in a p.b. of 27:56. Our ladies were led home by Tracy Rogers (Buckley) who was 4^th in 29:11, followed by teammate Jennifer Rambaldi in 9^th with a p.b. of 30:37. Emma Alofs (Cybi) ran 33:8 in 14^th and Rachel Shipley (Abergele) returned after a long absence with 33:28 in 15^th and Jane Doughton placed 16^th with 34:36. All our men finished in under 28 minutes and all our ladies in under 35 minutes.
