NWRAC Introduction
In 1997 Welsh Athletics underwent an administrative reorganisation, changing from eight County Associations to four Regional Athletic Councils. These have been set up to provide guidance, support and alignment on all matters relating to athletics in the regions. NWRAC covers all of North Wales and comprises Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Wrexham, Ynys Mon and North Powys.
NWRAC organises regional and inter-regional championships in each of the disciplines and also oversees both endurance and track and field officiating, as well as safeguarding, at a regional level. The Council liaises closely with the WA Development Officers based in North Wales who provide up to date information on athletics in schools as well as coaching.
NWRAC meets 5 times a year for general meetings and there is also an AGM. The Council has an appointed Chair, Secretary and Treasurer as well as officers to oversee safeguarding and officiating in both track and field and endurance. Representatives are also appointed in each of the disciplines on the WA sub-committees.
