Congratulations to Kevin Clark and Arwel Lewis

on receiving volunteering awards from Welsh Athletics.  Both were presented with the awards at the recent Twin Piers race.

Kevin Clark – Meritorious Award

Kevin has been on the committee of Cybi Striders for over fifteen years during which time the club has developed and grown considerably. Much of this is due to the contribution that Kevin has made over the years. His commitment to the development of the club is second to none. Kevin has also been responsible for the organisation of the Breakwater 5 Mile Road Race which has been commended for its excellence which has now become the North Wales Regional Championship race. Kevin also coaches athletes and holds coaching level CIRF. His contribution to his club and to the North Wales Region makes him a worthy recipient of this award.

Arwel Lewis – Award of Honour

Arwel has served his Club, the North Wales Region and Welsh Athletics with distinction as an athlete, club secretary and as an active member of his region and Welsh Athletics. He has made a significant contribution to the development of Mountain and Fell Running in Wales from grass roots to the elite level. Arwel represents these disciplines on the General Council of Welsh Athletics. His commitment to these disciplines is second to none; his wide-ranging involvement from club and regional activities to his service within Welsh Athletics is impressive; not only does he keep the General Council (the working arm of the sport) up to date with recent developments relating to Mountain and Fell disciplines but over the years has been involved as team Manager for both disciplines. Arwel is also a race organiser and is a level 4 endurance official. He is a most worthy recipient of this award.
