There were some great individual runs in perfect conditions in Brecon. In the Under 13 Boys race, Alfie Shiland, Elis Martin led the team home in 5th and 6th place helping the team to silver medals.

In the Under 13 Girls race, Maddie Hughes had a great run to finish fourth but unfortunately, we didn’t have enough runners to complete a team.

The Under 15 Boys saw our first individual medal as Jacob Welsh picked up a bronze medal and was followed home quickly by Miguel Jenkins(5) and Finley Cullen (6). However, it was the Under 15 Girls when North Wales saw its first winner on the day when Beca Haf Brown from Menai comfortably won her race. Despite good packing by Josephine Hurst, McKenzie McCourt and Ella Davis, the girls had to settle for second place.

It didn’t take long to have our second winner when Deri McCluskey finished second in the combined Under 17/20 Men’s race to win the Under 17 title and with Aled Breeze and Tudor Harper Lloyd filling the minor places it was a clean sweep for North Wales in the Under 17 race. In the same combined Under 17/20 women’s race, Maddison Griffiths had a great run to finish 2nd in the Under 17 age group.

In the senior men’s race, Tom Wood had a great run to finish fourth, not far behind Dewi Griffiths and Rhodri Owen and Sam Bellis should be pleased to have made the top 10. Geran Hughes worked his way through the field and was delighted to earn a silver medal in the M55 age group and help the M55 team to pick up silver medals as well.

In the women’s senior race, Jennifer Rambaldi made the top 10 of her W35 category as she was the first North Walian home. Mel Morris finished 7th in the W45 age group and the ever-dependable Emma Collins once again picked up a medal with silver in her W55 age group.
