Inter County Match and Regional 10 Miles Championships 19/02/2023
INTERCOUNTY MATCHES AND
REGIONAL 10 MILES CHAMPIONSHIPS, 19.2.2023
I have to preface this report with the fact that post-race, a “short course” was found to have been run. This means that performances recorded on the day cannot be included as Regional records or personal bests and will be shown on the Power of Ten websites as such. However, after reviewing the event, it was decided that the results of both the Inter-County match and the N. Wales championships would stand as true.
Inter-County Match:
Teams competing against the Region were from Cheshire, Staffordshire and Shropshire and in all a total of 47 men and women took part. In the men’s event, North Wales were clear winners with four runners finishing in the first 5: Ryan Davis (1st), Tomos Roberts (2nd), Adam Jones (4th) and James Yarwood (5th), giving a total of 12 pts. Staffs were 2nd with 31 pts, Shropshire 3rd with 41 pts and Cheshire 4th with 81 pts. Our non-scorer was Scott Nixon who finished 6th. In the women’s event, Cheshire edged the home team with 19 points (1st, 3rd 6th and 9th) while the Region’s ladies (Tracy Rogers 2nd, Carla Green 5th, Rachel Shipley 7th and Gemma Moore 8th) totalled 22 points.
