Junior Mountain Running at the British Inter-Counties at Kettlewell

U/17 Ladies grabbed gold at the British Junior Inter-county Mountain Running Championships in Yorkshire at the weekend. A 6:00 am start from Bangor did not appear to tire the N Wales teams who endured the long drive, the highlight of the day being the success of the U/17 ladies team, who led by Menai T&F’s Beca Haf Bown 2nd, Maldwyns Harriers Mackenzie McCourt 5th and Eryri’s Anwen Hockley 15th snatching the gold from under Yorkshires nose by 1 point !. BIG thanks to female team manager Ellen Baines and Julia P G Jones and Joseph Matthews for negotiating the mini-bus for us with St Gerards and the North Wales Regional Athletics Board for their support.

Other team results, U/15 ladies, 17th Hannah Brotheridge Eryri, 21st Cadi French Eryri and 22nd Olwen Baines 8th team. U15 Men, 16th Jai Chauhan Eryri and Cai Dafydd Betsi Runaways 19th, 6th team. U/17 men, 10th Finlay Cullen Maldwyn Harriers, 14th Ben Sergeant Eryri, and Ollie Teasdale Eryri 6th team,  U/19 ladies 10th Jay Wymer Eryri, 15th Mabli Baines holding off her sis Efa 16th, 6th team and sole U/19 man Sam Gunning Cybi who was 14th, da iawn pawb and diolch for coming, Mike.
