Regional 10KM Championships 2026
The first North Wales road running championships of 2026 were, for the fourth year in succession, held once again within the Twin Piers race, which starts at Llandudno prom and finishes on the prom at Colwyn Bay—one of the very few point-to-point races remaining in the country. On Saturday 17th January it was a clear day, with little wind and mild temperatures for the time of year, almost perfect conditions for a road race.
MEN’S RACE
Owen Roberts (Meirionnydd) is a talented athlete whose career in our sport has been ham-pered over the years by a string of inju-ries. Now coached by former Welsh in-ternational and Eryri marathon winner Russell Bentley, Owen is beginning to en-joy a trouble-free period and at the Twin Piers race he went straight into an early lead which he stretched to a minute by the finish line, recording 31:59. Behind him came two of his Clubmates: Ben Harding in second with 32:59 for first M35, and 2025 winner Gwion Roberts in third with 33:56 and silver senior man.
WOMEN’S RACE
What a year Deeside’s Eden O’Dea is having. With several Welsh vests in different disciplines in 2025, and a string of fast times on the roads, Eden came into this race as the current N. Wales 10km championship record holder, with the 36:36 she set here in 2020. On this day she smashed that with a superb 35:44, and did so as the fourth athlete to cross the finish line, almost 2 minutes ahead of the runner-up Gemma Moore (Eryri) who took first F40 in 37:39, and third-placer Jennifer Rambaldi (Buckley) who took first F35 in 39:00.
